Moscow Transit Map [Article]

You can't beat a well organised diagram, and this Moscow transit map from 1980 just about fits into that category, even if it does feel like a Soviet hammer to the eyeballs. Peru + Bolivia: A Stop-Motion Journey [Video: 1:46]

Woman stands in approximately same place, changes outfits, someone takes pictures, all while the planet moves around her. Hang on, that can't be right... anyway, it's a neat video, but goes on a bit...

The 5 Most Common UX Mistakes [Article]

Another list, but its five points about user experience mistakes are worth being reminded of.

Somali pirates [Film trailers]

There are pirates and then there are pirates. It would seem there are enough of the latter these days to justify topical films, not how they affect climate change. Captain Phillips features Tom Hanks with an accent that may itself win an award and A Hijacking seems to feature half the cast of Borgen (the other half probably being from The Killing). I'll leave it to you to decide which might tell a better story...

Pic Monkey [Web service]

One for all you budding creatives (yes, feel free to use it for making Facebook cover photos) is this pretty slick photo editing tool. Cropping, filters and collage creation all add up to a pretty neat tool. Plus, with phrases like this one "Let's use teamwork today. You make something cool and we'll be like: Yesss!" how could you refuse?

The Theory of Interstellar Trade [PDF]

It's a short read and a tad complicated. Give it a go though, if only to appreciate writing like this: "...be careful not to confuse relative generality with general relativity." It made me chuckle anyway...
