It's organisations like this that can really make a difference to people's lives and even society as a whole; if you're actually making music, rather than just passively listening, it can help lighten the load and bring real joy.

We are dedicated to investigating the impact that music therapy can have for those affected by life-limiting illness, isolation or disability, and this work ensures that our practice is effective and led by the real experiences of the people we support. And we work hard to bring the benefits of music therapy to as many people as possible.”

Principles of good design

Dieter Rams: 'Less would be better everywhere.' Simple, honest, obvious and well worth aiming to follow in many (if not all) aspects of life.
This is a grounded and meaningful documentary from the BBC that everyone should watch. Dieter Rams has achieved a lot and proved that good design is invisible.

People are understandably anxious about the future. When you see what is happening in America with the new President who seems more interested on stoking this anxiety and increasing fear. The last thing we need is fear. Politicians are obviously incapable of removing this fear. But most of my colleagues – architects, urban planners or designers – they are capable of doing this. Design only works when it really seeks to achieve something for humanity.”

Take a look at Vitsœ who are featured in the documentary too. They were founded in 1959 by Niels Vitsœ and Otto Zapf 'to realise the furniture design of Dieter Rams'.
They also had a fantastic approach to their workshop in Royal Leamington Spa: a low-energy, modest and expandable building.

A vision for liveable, sustainable and affordable homes

This is the future and the beginning of the end of hyper-individualism. Pretty good (responsive) website too, very inclusive and in keeping with the ethos of the project and its aims.

The Urban Village Project rethinks how we design, build, finance and share our future homes, neighbourhoods and cities. The aim is to allow for cheaper homes to enter the market, make it easier to live sustainably and affordably, and ensure more fulfilling ways of living together. Here’s how we envision that to happen.”
