An insatiable appetite
For immediacy and instant results and gratification seems to be (even more of) a current trend.
Isn’t that the early twenty-first century’s or, at the very least, the Western world’s modus operandi, at the moment?!
Attention is imperative as it means you’re holding someone in your spell and with what you think might be important to them, all to essentially continue running whatever business needs to be run and making, no doubt, some monetary profit for it and/or its shareholders.
The media industry, certainly online and benefiting from digital technology and its love of algorithms (and machine learning, sorry, artificial intelligence (made by not necessarily intelligent beings)) to define success metrics and more is somewhat of a self-serving beast?
Latching on to certain words that get used and generally taking meaning out of context to then project a message that, ‘this is scandalous’ or, ‘it looks good’ or even, ‘no need to worry now’ because the channel that published it knows best, right?
