This website stands on these shoulders
Kualo
The Breort website operates thanks to these good folks that have a pretty smart setup that runs very effectively on renewable energy in a bespoke building.
Our primary hosting facility, Centro, is not only powered entirely by renewable energy, but has also been built from the ground up to be extremely energy efficient.
[...]
[...] the hot air expelled from the servers is contained and directly extracted from the building, meaning the cooling systems can operate much more energy efficiently.

WordPress
The fantastic open-source platform for making websites (and blogs and apps).
We’ve been an enthusiastically using it (on and off) for many a year and have learned a few things about PHP (and even MySQL) as we've tinkered away and used its features to produce websites.
Bulma
A brilliant open-source CSS framework that’s really rather handy and adaptable.
Advanced Custom Fields
A top-notch WordPress plugin (now owned by WP Engine) that gives much more control to web developers creating custom WordPress themes.
Perfect Images
Perfect Images (previously known as WP Retina 2x) from Meow Apps is a brilliant WordPress plugin by Tokyo-based software engineer and photographer, Jordy Meow. It helps format and serve retina-ready images through WordPress and allows you the freedom to tweak its settings where appropriate for your setup.
Google Fonts
Pretty decent web font service from that rather large and well-used company that you may have quite a few opinions about despite many of its workings being seemingly essential to modern life.
Monserrat
The font Monserrat was designed by Julieta Ulanovsky and came into use because it was a successful project (in 2014) on Kickstarter.
We are using it on our website – mainly for titles and just a few of its weights – and it seems to be available via quite a few online font services and providers so if more information about it is sought, we suggest utilising your favoured web-based search engine for links to choose, then follow.
Breadcrumb
Bootstrap for WordPress has created a brilliant piece of code for a breadcrumb that is in use on this website; some changes have been made to customise it for our use but it certainly came to the rescue and took over from the initial PHP attempt we had pieced together.
We Buy Books
Every now and then we use this rather decent service and send our owned and read books to them so at least they can be useful to someone else, rather than just take up space and gather dust.
