Reykjavík Nights

Having read it
★★★★☆
Well, it certainly rattled along and it certainly made for a surprisingly enjoyable and intriguing crime novel.
Finished it in pretty much one go as I was keen to find out how it all ended.
Good stuff!
A good passage
Next they arrested two men suspected of drink driving, which involved taking samples and preparing reports. Paperwork bored Erlendur, though he understood why it was necessary. It took up too much of their time; everything had to be accounted for and carefully recorded. Names had to be taken, incident reports written up, one form after another meticulously filled in and filed. Nothing must be neglected. Accuracy was paramount.
A second good passage
The man was in his forties, tall and lean, dressed in golfing attire – cardigan, light checked trousers, a glove on his left hand. From his tan Erlendur fussed he had spent his summer on the handful of golf courses to be found near Reykjavík. It only confirmed his belief that the game had been invented for English and Scottish lords who had nothing better to do with their time.
