Not sure why I had added it to my reading list back in the day, but I have given it a go.

It had a few moments of well-written, observant focus (with a little creative flourish in using the narrator’s own writing of fairy tales to assist the main story being told) but it seemed a bit tied up in how the real events were to reveal themselves but I suppose that’s a bit like growing up and figuring life out as a young adult and also watching your elders behave somewhat questionably at times, predicated on many of the characters’ issues (and lies) being first-world problems – which one may assume may be the author showing relevancy and context in these kinds of privileged white worlds.

Anyway, easy to read, certainly given its short chapters, but not totally appealing given I’m an older adult and there wasn’t much mystery!
