An interesting premise but, to be honest, apart from its opening few chapters, wasn’t well written or constructed (and needed heavy editing). Plus, there seemed too much detail in its middle that felt pointless in helping progress the story and adding any intrigue to the plot.

Any character interest there was didn’t feel essential to wider story developments and actually, it seemed a cursory attempt at trying to write some intrigue to help the plot that the author didn’t really know what to do with to aid the idea.

Skipped quite a few chapters (from the middle or so, to its end) but read the end ones and epilogue to see how it wrapped up... well, it continues in a series, but quite frankly, don’t bother!
