Reality
A Very Short Introduction
Jan Westerhoff
Having read it
★★★☆☆
A book that went on a bit despite its subtitle (or because of it) and seemed to get a bit academically tied up by its own searching, complexities and philosophising about a thing called reality, whatever that is.
Still, about 100 pages or so later, it turns out it just is, so best get on with it (until you can’t)!
A good passage
The self, it appears, is nothing that appears at a fundamental level of description, but an artefact that arises when various simple factors come together in a complex whole.
