Good research and good writing keep this book’s narrative well paced and interesting but, despite its early insights and explanations of the Mosquito’s invention, development, build and use (and why I bought the book in the first place), it was predominantly about Danish resistance, with a few nods to other Scandinavian and German efforts and Mosquito missions.

While the Danes’ (and other resistance groups’) efforts written about were informative and insightful and the resistance efforts themselves courageous it seemed as if the book was mis-sold, given the narrative backseat the Mosquito aircraft took to the telling us of those exploits.

However, despite my skipping and skimming of its last ten or twenty chapters (there are over sixty!) it is a revealing read into wartime efforts and abuses that you may not typically hear or know of and is actually a good read.
