For all its storytelling verve, as a read, it just felt a bit flat.

Still, it’s reasonably well written (despite its first- and third-person switching) and a fair effort of bringing an idea to written life (or something like that!) but, to be honest, it was skipped and skimmed from just about halfway through to just get on with it and see how much of my guesswork was correct while the story’s threads untangled and its case continued to be made for a screen adaptation.
