Powerful, questioning, compelling; a work of fiction that paints shocking brushstrokes of truth to and of the effect and legacies of trauma, how it can beget more trauma leaving the reader wondering, quite rightly, about a traumatised person’s (moral) right, legitimacy and potential power to exercise some form of (personal) justice, even vengeance, over and to others.

Well worth your reading time.

(For an informative and revealing exercise in assisting improved understanding of the main character’s motives in this great piece of fiction, I recommend Gabor Maté’s non-fiction title, The Myth of Normal, to help a little with that possibility.)
