Girl A

★★★☆☆
A compelling story that is written well but seemed, as it went on, a little lost in its first person perspective and timelines at the expense of a stronger narrative that could (even should?) have provided more about the captors’ motives so as to better frame the whole tale, as trauma often begets trauma but we never really understand that beyond the religious scamming and all that; but maybe that was its point, as was sort of mentioned and inferred by other characters around the protagonist and her experiences as the story developed; good but missing something.
